About Benieta

Our desire to immigrate to Canada began before we had met. When we met in 1993 we discovered that this was a goal that we had both had in common.  Dettmar's aunt, who has been living in Barrier since the early 80s, showed him photos of Canada when he was a child. He fell in love with this beautiful country and especially with British Columbia.  He read every book he could find about Canada, it's history, nature and wildlife.

My wish to immigrate to Canada began nearly 20 years ago when I first visited Ontario. The abundance of nature and wildlife and the friendly Canadians I met appealed to me so much that I could foresee this land becoming my second home. After my first visit I reorganized and reprioritized my life to prepare for a future in Canada.

To take such a big step needed a good plan, so along with our daily life and duties we tried to prepare for our future in Canada. It's not that easy to create a new life for yourself overseas, it takes a while to set all your ideas in motion.

8 years ago Dettmar and I clearly defined our immigration and began preparing to immigrate. We landed on April 4th, 2009 in Vancouver with our two dogs Lucky and Farina and traveled around the province, we eventually made our way to Barrier where we stayed with relatives and started our search for a home. We saw an offer to purchase Benieta Accounting & Business Consulting and the decision was made to move to Salmon Arm.

This is such a beautiful small and cozy city, and this was exactly what we we're looking for. Everybody here gave us such a warm and overwhelming welcome, and after such a short time we are already feeling like part of this community.
